Six years ago, James decided it was time for a new property which led to a new journey—one that turned a historic schoolhouse into a countryside retreat that so many now call their home away from home. As we celebrate the 6th anniversary of Center Hill Country Inn this April, we want to take a moment to reflect on how far we’ve come, share our story, and thank the wonderful guests who have been a part of this adventure.

A Look Back: From Schoolhouse to Country Inn

Before Center Hill became the charming inn it is today, it had a rich history as a schoolhouse, filled with stories of learning, community, and growth. Over time, this historic building evolved into apartments, but they were not yet open to the public for vacation rentals. In 2019, we saw the potential to create a welcoming getaway for travelers seeking peace, nature, and a unique lodging experience in the heart of Carroll County.

With careful renovations, a vision for preserving its character, and an emphasis on creating a comfortable retreat, Center Hill Country Inn became what it is today—a place where guests can unwind, explore, and create lasting memories.
